Books, Books, Lots of Books!

This past weekend was the CBC-Calgary Reads Book Sale. It's a used book sale in an arena in Northwest Calgary. Apparently they have over 100,000 books. And they're cheap. $0.50 for kids books. $1 for old paperbacks. So we came home with over 50 books. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't find all the books I was looking for but it was a worthwhile trip. But now I am sad that we have to wait a whole year for the next one.

I live in a world of mushrooms and toadstools

I'm in a grumpy mood today. Happens a lot on Monday. I'm a Garfield cliche.
It was a nice weekend. Nice weekends make for worse Mondays. Funny how that goes.
I'm working on setting up a media player that will connect to the computer for easy access to video, pictures and music. The player is called the O!Play and so far it's been pretty good.
I'd recommend against the wireless version though. It costs an extra $40 and wireless just doesn't have the consistent bandwidth to allow streaming.
Evie has grown up so much recently. We've been watching movies from a year ago and she seems to be a totally different person. Her favourite game right now is running. Boundless energy. She also enjoys play the new Mario Bros Wii. Though her method of playing is to go into a bubble and float behind me.

Ahh, that's better

This weekend has been a significant improvement on last weekend. Nice weather, nice family; all in all, it's been great.

Ug

Nothing ends a long hard day like getting rear-ended. Nobody's hurt, it was low speed, though the Jeep is in pretty bad shape. Of course it happens the one day I drive the new Jeep to get an oil change rather than every other day when I drive the old Tercel. The guy didn't even have insurance papers or registration with him. Now for a fun weekend of insurance.

The Shames

Well, it's done. The Flames are out. On with life. I am in favour of a total house-cleaning. The Sutters can go. I don't know whether Jarome should stay or go. He had a pretty good olympics so maybe with a fresh organization he could recover his skills. It would be nice to see him finish his career in Calgary. I'm not sure what they could get for him either. Ah well.

Things have changed

Blogger got mad at me for not posting and appears to have taken away my drop-down comments. I'm sorry blogger.

What has been going on? Well, we have a new house. Yay! We are all moved into the new house. Yay! We are pretty much done unpacking in the new house. Yay! I promise to add some pictures at some point. Here's an old picture for now.
It's weird to be a South Calgary resident. I have always lived in the North so it's like we moved to a whole new city. It's nice not to have to take Deerfoot to work. Now I have alll these new and exciting routes to attempt.

Sleep is for the week

But not the weekend.

Kris and I had a night out on Friday when Kelsey came over to babysit Evie. It felt like it was our anniversary or something. I guess we don't go out too much. We went to dinner where Kris had a steak and I had a salad. Yeah, it seems a little weird, but it was a really good salad!
Then we went to see Avatar. The 8:00 show was sold out so we decided to stay up late for the 10:30 show. Its a long movie so we were not home until 2:00 am. So the rest of the weekend we were pretty out of it. I have to say though, it was pretty worth it. It's pretty rare that you are watching a movie and you realize that you are in awe. The plot was okay and there were definitely cheesy and cliche moments, but the cinematography and the special effects were fantastic. I had never seen a 3D movie in a theatre before and I was fairly impressed. You should see it.

The results are in

Hey what's this? Why it's an old blog! *dust, dust, dust* Hey I think it still works.

So most any of you should know that Kris and I are expecting our second child. The ultrasound last week revealed the gender. I know some people like suprises so I won't say it here directly, but you can click on this link to see the results. Exciting!

Also, after a long hiatus I am exercising again. I now can barely move.
